Sailed up to china camp for the weekend. Took the dink with us and when to china camp for a 6 mile hike. Then over to Nanaimo for drinks.

Winds on the way up were up to 28 knots so we were double reefed.

Lynne and I sailed around the bay today. The winds were quite brisk in the slot 18-24 knts. After going under the bay bridge they died and we sailed home slowly.

April 6 - 8 2012

Out for three days solo. First night down to old slip at alameda marina. Sailed entire way to Jack London. Saw George and Rick the next day on Georgia's Girl.

Next day took off mid morning and sailed out to mid bay winds picked up to about 19 knts. Then tucked in behind Treasure Island and into Clipper Cove for the night. Winds calmed down after sunset and had a comfortable nights sleep on the hook.

Next day too off early (about 1000) and motored out as there was no wind. Took a look at the cabling work on the new section of the bay bridge and then motored off to a point just past the navel station channel and turned off the motor and drifted with the anchor hanging at about 15 feet (safeguard against going aground). Eventually the winds picked up and went sailing for about 2 hours.

Lynne and I took her cousin Ron, his wife, Gloria, and his son Andy out for a sail. Our plans were to go to Angle Island but the winds were on our nose (NW) at 15-22 kts. So we instead headed to Jack London for lunch. On the way back the winds started clocking to the north and by the time we got in they were from the north and down to a gusty 10-15 kts.

Lynne and I took an afternoon sail to just past the bay bridge and back. The winds we 12-15 on the way up, with an ebb tide. The winds died and the ebb tide made the way back quite slow. Lynne was at the helm most of the time.

Dec. 31, 2011 - Jan 1, 2012

Lynne and I sailed over to South Beach Harbor in San Francisco for New Years. We had a slip at the marina. After checking in at the marina we went over to the South Beach Yacht Club for a drink. Then we went out to the movies (the Artist). Afterwards we went to pier 1.5 where Doron's boat was docked, for a drink. We walked back to our boat through the new year's revelers who were waiting to see the fireworks at midnight. We got back to our boat and watched the fireworks from the back of the boat. A great night!

The next day we sailed over to Angel Island. Winds were 13-16 from the NNW. When we got to AI we took a hike up to the top of Mt Livermore. The day was gorgeous sunny and warm (mid 60's) with enough wind for a fun sail. Got back home about 18:30.
